§ 94-271. Residential parking.

  • (a)

    When signs are erected by the town giving notice thereof, no person shall park any vehicle at any time between the hours specified as set forth on the signs, except persons who are actual residents of the town. Actual residents of the town includes persons who reside in the town and have registered their vehicle to a town address, people who regularly store or park a motor vehicle within the town and people who own, lease, or otherwise control property or a place of business where motor vehicles are stored, repaired, serviced, loaded, or unloaded in connection with such business and have a vehicle sticker as required by law. Any persons violating the provisions of this section shall upon conviction be fined not less than $50.00 nor more than $750.00 for each offense. For purposes of this section, each four-hour period that a vehicle is parked in violation of this subsection shall be considered a separate offense.

    (b)

    In all commercial and manufacturing zones, when signs are erected by the town giving notice thereof, no person shall park any vehicle at any time between the hours as set forth thereon, except persons who are actual residents of the town who have a vehicle tag properly affixed to the vehicle being parked. Any persons violating this subsection shall upon conviction be fined not less than $50.00 nor more than $750.00 for each offense. For purposes of this section, each four-hour period that a vehicle is parked in violation of this subsection shall be considered a separate offense.
